Second Dawn

We recuperated from our victory against the really bad actor and we were faced with a strange dilemma. The Island and Tower was moving farther and farther.

I found myself humming as we made our way towards the tower.
"You're so.... far away... doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore..."
So this is what the Wyld does to your head.

We all went in the last island which had a strange coral dome. Inside, the bluish dome was made of panels and on each panel was a weapon, all sorts of weapons, everything I could and could not imagine (maybe except the Hook Daiklaives I've been looking for).

Suddenly, as the party comes into the dome, the doors shut and the weapons detach themselves from the walls. They started spinning and whirring. They moved in arcane diagrams and attacked all of us.

Raging Snowstorm recognized this Wyld Phenomena from the North and our Sidereal Companion (whose name always escapes me when I'm about to write about her), said that there is a central "weapon" that is considered the heart of this maelstrom of blades.

The blades rotated around essential patterns of... Essence. They had to rotate around something which launched it's attacks against us. We tried music, sounds, sight, and different observations to track the center of the maelstrom. Snowstorm did his best in coordinating our efforts and it finally paid off. I spotted the offending heart and our coordinated attacks distracted it enough so Snowstorm could finally smash it to bits.

We quickly retreated to the ship gathering the wyld bits and pieces of the weapons as Naar and Akira said we could use them for exotic materials. The dome collapsed on itself taking most of the island with it.

The behemoth that kept attacking our ship finally landed on the deck and challenged us. With the coordination of Raging Snowstorm, Naar and my charms, Akira's sorcery, and the combined martial prowess of Azure Heart, Still Wind, and our Sidereal it managed only to deal minor damage to the ship before we promptly tore it apart.

I was wondering where Drifter was the whole time and I discovered that he was keeping the Arc of First Light from careening into what appeared to be a very deep maelstrom.

We took the Dolphin and scanned the area. We couldn't even get close to it as the currents repelled us. We went up topside and decided a quick jump in and sorcerous spell out should destroy the center. I drew the short straw and went first.

I botched it. I lost my weapon as I fumbled the controls but managed to get out unhurt.

Raging Snowstorm went in. He hit the target properly but was almost torn apart himself as he bumped the edges of the vortex before being transported out.

So for the second time, we were saved by the Dawn.

We fled for our lives from the imploding unformed one. Naar managed to wring a vow from the remaining fair folk to leave this part of creation alone for a thousand years.

We licked our wounds and wondered what we would do next. I for one wanted to get back to Fakharu's Court and find out how to hunt those damnable Lintha. We had too many sidetrips recently.
