Drifter was busily mending the ship's damages when Knife of the Ocean and the others returned from their trekking inside the giant sea serpent under the sea. As it turns out, there was indeed a Wyld noble residing within its belly and they had the honor of proving it that it wasn't completely in control of things in his domain. With that the tempest plaguing their ship receded slightly and allowed them passage deeper into the unformed - still with the behemoths, of course.
However, it was with a fortunate stroke of wits and luck that Akira Silverwing discovered that they were headed towards Wyld water - a certain variety of water that is of the unformed and can come in various dangerous forms. With Captain Kalaman's quick reflexes and extensive sail knowledge, he was able to veer the Ark away from the dangerous regions, and the occassional falling behemoth as well. Drifter was without peace, though, since Captain Kalaman's quick reflexes and thinking always involved him entering one panic-streaking trouble after another. He was fortunate his wits were fast enough to react as to what is supposed to be done - reverse the ship, turn the ship around, give it a sudden boost of speed, among others. By the time they had completely traversed the waters, he was almost knotted up in the engine room.
They soon reached a clear patch of water where something luminous shone from the bottom. They all decided to dive in after discovering that it was water but enables them to breathe like as if it has air. Underneath, they discovered a battle royal tournament in progress, and after being coaxed by some mermen to join in, Knife of the Ocean volunteers to be their champion for the fight and decimates through the contenders until he was left with a powerful Cataphractoi, one of the stronger Unformed. The deal was set to give the victory to the one who scores a first hit, and after several dodges later, Knife of the Ocean managed to gain the win, enabling them further passage.
Their sailing soon reached an island that seemed to resemble a heavily fortified bay settlement, with four harbor cannons that all aimed dangerously at them aside from the usual behemoth from the sky. Captain Kalaman and Midday Emerald channeled their powers and, through the miraculous wonder of the Wyld-Shaping technique and a prayer from their Sidereal Advisor (whose name he still cannot remember), they were able to conjure two gilded-wood copies of the Ark of First Light, one of which actually bearing a captain of its own. Knife decided to man the other Ark as they proceeded to elude the harbor cannons, which unfortunately tore Knife's ship down.
They harbored in the island and after scrutinizing the area, Raging Snowstorm declared that the only points of interest to infiltrate would be the front gates and a sewage system that ran along the fortress's side. The Dawn decided to take his Tiger Warriors and Midday Emerald's Lunar companion while the rest of the Exalts proceeded through the sewage path.
Drifter and company waded through several misadventures inside the sewers, which involved muck water, giant rats, and occassional hazards of entering such havens of vileness, until they managed to emerge at the leader's quarters, where they found a well-formed group awaiting them, this time with another Wyld noble. Here they discovered that Raging Snowstorm has been knocked out in a one-on-one duel with one of the noble's Cataphractoi generals.
Combat ensued after Midday Emerald's dazzling entrance, and the Solars immediately went for the leader, Drifter trying to aim for a choking clinch using his Gauntlets of Distant Claws, but unfortunately missed. The Night and the Zeniths both aimed for the noble and the Cataphractoi near him, but the action went seriously out of their favor and ended up with Midday Emerald being incapacitated for the remainder of the battle. Drifter thought at first that they were on the losing end after losing their Dawn outside and their second Zenith here but he realized otherwise as their miraculous Sidereal advisor moves into the scene once again and decimates the noble with several well-timed blows.
The island's fortress then ceases to exist and they bear witness just in time to see another behemoth fall down on the other copy of the Ark of First Light, killing off its conjured captain and also seeing their unconscious Dawn lying on the completely settlement-free island.
