"HARD TO PORT!!!"
Captain Naar Kalaman's commanding voice echoed out throughout the Ark of First Light's deck , along with a surge of Essence radiating from the captain himself as he fought to maintain the Ark amidst the swirling tide of waves that they were in now. His band of Solars and Exalts had ventured deep into the Wyld regions and delved into the Fair Folk territories in order to destroy a potentially imminent threat from the unformed that may assault the Western regions and cripple Creation's borders further.
They had encountered one of the Fair Folk nobles already, and it was thanks to their new acquaintance, Midday Emerald and her Lunar Mate, that the poor unformed thing was unable to even launch a single assault at them as the vicious Lunar tore it apart. Now they were constantly being toppled by the gigantic spiral waves of a maelstrom that none of them have ever encountered before - which is perfectly normal and acceptable under these conditions! It is the Wyld after all.
To make things worse, a pyre that stood at the very center of the maelstrom, devoid of the swirling waves, there kept launching a gigantic behemoth of a lizard that constantly aimed for their ship. It came at seemingly quick intervals of time that both Captain Kalaman and Drifter, who had been put in charge of repairs as the Ark continuously sustained damage from close shaves by the behemoth, were put on their heels.
"Someone patch up the wrecks on the eastern side of the hull, I'll be right over there!" Drifter yelled at the crew, as he fought to maintain the ship in operational condition, occassionally getting worse as the behemoth unluckily strikes or grazes their ship. "Oooh, I hope they get over their mission soon!"
Knife of the Ocean, Raging Snowstorm, Azure Heart of the Sunrise, Midday Emerald, Lilac, and their newfound Sidereal Advisor (who had been in disguise as one of the ship's crew all along, as a deckswabber) had journeyed down on the maelstrom's spiralling origin - a gigantic sea snake that kept chasing its tail. It was thanks to the sorceress Akira Silverwing to have discovered this fact, and both the dumb captain and the stupid barbarian deduced that their next noble target would be found inside. Drifter and Akira actually resented that, having not thought of the idea in the first place. Perhaps it's the common sense of things that made it so easy for the pirate and the barbarian to figure out.
"They had been gone for almost several hours." Drifter said, counting time through the behemoths that kept falling at constant intervals. Nearly seventeen rounds of behemoths falling had already elapsed and they were quite lucky to have survived most of the blows, making the repairs run even smoother. "What IS taking them so long?! I'll run out of materials if this continues longer!"
Yet, he still had time to marvel at the wondrous occurences that are happening to them in Wyld territories - and yet to find them perfectly normal and acceptable under such circumstances!
